Blue Care EBA Update
Blue Care/Wesley Mission have finally listened to the AWU’s persistent calls to come back to the bargaining table!
The Care and Support negotiations will commence on 1 December 2016, and the Nursing negotiations may commence on that same day or in the week of 5 December 2016.
It is time for members to stand up, be counted and demand a better deal from Blue Care/Wesley Mission.
The only way we will get a better deal is by commencing the process for protected action and showing Blue Care/Wesley we are serious about our terms and conditions of employment.
Keep an eye out for your AWU Organiser as they will be coming on-site in the period leading up to the re-commencement of bargaining to discuss the kinds of protected action it might be appropriate to undertake. Some members have suggested bans on paperwork, wearing badges in support of the claim for a better deal and 10 minute stoppages.
Only members of the Union will be covered by a protected action ballot lodged by the AWU so make sure all of your colleagues sign up to the Union and stand together.
Make sure other members have updated their email, phone number and home address with us so we can keep members up to date on the progress of bargaining.
Blue Care/Wesley Mission have also invited clinical/management employees to negotiations for the Care and Support Enterprise Agreement so that they can potentially vote up a reduction in personal carer and support services worker terms and conditions.
There has never been a more important time to be a member of the AWU.
