Make Christmas Eve a Public Holiday
Monday 19th August 2019
Thanks to the hard work of unions, the Palaszczuk State Government has committed to making Christmas Eve night a public holiday, ensuring Queensland workers are paid fairly for giving up time with friends and family on one of the busiest nights of the year.
Unfortunately, big companies and employer groups are already doing everything they can to try and put a stop to is – meaning Queensland workers could still miss out on this vital change.
To help get this over the line, the AWU will be making a formal submission to the State Government in support of making Christmas Eve a public holiday – but we need your help to do it.
